UP 5054 leaves the ore yard in Escanaba, MI on a gloomy, rainy day in December of 1996, with an empty train bound for the Empire Mine. UP ownership here was short lived and quickly gave way to the WC and CN. With the recent closing of the Empire Mine, ore no longer moves thru the dock in Escanaba.
