Back in the late 90's the BNSF got really power short around their system with the new merger railroad. Alot of older geeps and SD got pushed into regular service on the mainlines. It was kind of a cool era for photographers to see these old beast trying to keep pace on the mainlines. Here a eastbound freight has a couple old veterans...A GP9 and a SD9 are splicing a pair of 40's on the Aurora Sub just outside Prairie. Even though it is BNSF railroad now, this still is BN green at the time.
