Remarks & Notes

Deep in the hollows of Letcher County, two EMD's rust away at the idled Golden Oak Coal prep plant. These units were called mine critters, which shoved hoppers under the loadout while loading coal. Unit one is a SW7 while unit 2 in the foreground is a NW2. Taken with permission from the security guard.
