| Because ordinary passenger trains on Hainan Island need to run on electrified railways, Guangzhou Locomotive Depot needs to send electric locomotives to Hainan Island. Because the Guangzhou-Maoming Railway is not electrified, diesel locomotives are needed for traction. |
