Some 950 miles out of Hoboken, NJ, the Erie Lackawanna's Lake Cities is on its last lap into Chicago's Dearborn Station as a pair of E8s lead it through Griffith, IN. This was the EL's last remaining long-distance train, and it was discontinued in January 1970, four months after this photo was taken.
