| "LIRR Extra at the Bliss Spring Switch"
Long Island Rail Road Extra 5020 pauses at the Bliss Spring Switch as they wait for the first detoured extra to clear up in Long Island City Yard. The Bliss Spring Switch is one of the last surviving spring switches on LIRR property. This rare detour was a result of a minor derailment at Borden Avenue on the Main Line. In order to get trainsets to LIC Yard for the evening rush hour, 4 equipment extras were run down the Lower Montauk. |
