    Remarks & Notes
One of my favorite things in the 90's was these CN haulage trains the BN ran. Being a young kid and seeing Canadian power for the 1st time was something completely different for me. Consist like this was why we went to the BN Aurora Sub each weekend, cause there was so much variety with BN and CN trains. Here we have a loaded sulfur train 376 down on their knees fighting the .8% grade out of the Mississippi River Valley east of Savanna as they pass thru Burke. 3 tired Sd40's are trying their best to help out this barn as they make their way towards Chicago. These CN trains lasted on the BN til the CN went to the WC to move their traffic in and out of Chicago.

    Railroading in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, basically anything but the 2000s.

Freight Cowls are standard locomotives that have a hood that extends the full width of the locomotive. Sadly, most Freight Cowls have been retired, but a few still run on short lines.
