Very sad, one of the most spectacular railroads worldwide, the 1 meter gauge line Cha?aral - Llanta - Potrerillos, is shut down since march 2015, largely destroyed between Llanta and Cha?aral by floods. If you search for the route on Google Earth today, you will only find sad remains, large sections have been buried, washed away, built over by new roads, and so on. The very durty GR12 # 93 and # 412 of Ferronor are pulling 7 loaded hoppers with copper concentrate from the loading site above Llanta and 4 empty sulphuric acid tank cars from the unloading track in Llanta up to the smelter in Potrerillos in 2012.
