      Remarks & Notes
NS 320 is seen at Birmingham, Alabama on November 10, 2018 as it passes 2nd Avenue with it's SD70 leader followed by a SD70ACe, PRLX CW60AC and SD40-2. NS's fleet of 29 remaining SD70 series are the next scheduled group to enter the carrier's capital rebuild program which will turn them from DC traction to AC propulsion along with new wide cabs, the 2500s will lose their distinct EMD appearance afterwards.

The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
