| From this angle you can clearly see the extended cab that makes this engine unique. BNSF 3160 is one of five GP50 extended cab engines built in 1985, designed to accommodate a crew of 5 so that the caboose could be removed from the train. Eventually it was determined that the overall crew size could be reduced and the extended cabs were eliminated. |
