| An ultra-long intermodal train wends its way through Franklin Canyon as it climbs a 1.0 percent grade. The train is heading west toward Richmond, where it will terminate. The next obstacle is tunnel 3, the longest on the Santa Fe system. The summit lies within the tunnel. |
