As shadows start to envelope the deeper reaches of Franklin Canyon, a super-hot 199 train roars uphill toward Glen Frazer. In the distance, Mount Diablo still basks in full summer sunshine. Before the coming of BNSF, Glen Frazer had an active siding, which sometime after the merger was taken out. One of the most striking features of the canyon is its groves of gorgeous oak trees.
