Patrons of the January 2019 Pete Lerro photo charter were surprised to see a female in the fireman's seat of the locomotive. Being a fireman on a steam locomotive is a gritty job, but this lady was seemingly enjoying every second of her duties. Here she is seen at King Road, stogie and all.
Pere Marquette #1225 was built in 1941 by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio. This locomotive was the very same engine that the Polar Express book and movie location was based on. Today the locomotive is owned and operated by the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan.
Just that: to put on a smile, while watching our favorite thing: railroading.
It could be anything, from the people around railroading, to a funny perspective, or just a 'jokingly' grimacing locomotive.
I hope you all have fun with this. :)
