      Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific 4005 is one of 8 surviving 4-8-8-4 Big Boy locomotives and is the only Big Boy ever converted to burn oil for fuel. She is one of only three housed in an enclosed facility, and can be seen in the climate controlled Forney Transportation Museum in Denver, Colorado. A great museum with a nice collection of railroad engines and passenger cars. This engine was built in 1941 by the American Locomotive Company and ran freight in Wyoming. In 1953 she derailed while running 50 mph through Red Desert due to a poorly timed switch being thrown by a track crew, killing the three crew members in the cab, including engineer Leo Murry, fireman Lawrence Endres and brakeman James Anderton.
