An RJ Corman empty coal train creeps (almost as if carefully) around the tight curve of the Flemming Loop just outside the small town of Commodore, PA. The train had just crested Flemming Summit, now gliding downgrade into Clymer, PA where it would be loaded for its return trip. Snow had fallen the night before, as is often the case in these Pennsylvania mountains, and a few flurries continued to fall as the train finished its journey.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
