F40's ruled South Station back in 1993. A newer F40PH-2C is joined by "class unit" F40PH 1000 on a quiet, cloudy morning in Boston. The construction work that is visible here is a sign of the major changes to come (including covered platforms, electrification and the retirement of the original F40PH fleet).
Motive Power Industries and GMD of Canada have rebuilt the EMD F40PH. These rebuild F40s are slowly fading, but some can be seen in California and Canada.
