WR1 (Wilkes Barre, PA - Rouses Point, NY) and its return, RW-6 were the daily manifests to and from Rouses Point. RW-6 was called "The Paper Train" because a large part of its consist was CP and CN box cars with newsprint from Quebec paper mills headed to U.S. newpapers. WR1 returned the cars to Canada. WR1 typically arrived in the early evening so that the CP cars could be rushed to CP's St. Luc Yard in Montreal by the Napierville Junction to avoid additional per diem charges if still on the D&H at midnight. EL began appearing on the D&H in 1968 as both roads were under N&W Dereco control.
