| Derailment Site. At approximately 11:30 am on Friday 3-8-19, for reasons unknown at this time, eight cars of fifty six car NS westbound train B08 derailed in rural La Porte county IN near milepost 460 on the Chicago Line. Thankfully there were no injuries and the eight coil cars were not loaded. Both eastward and westward mains sustained damage as the derailed cars came to rest at a perpendicular angle across both sets of tracks, while miraculously not taking out the nearby signals. The very professional and efficient work performed by Norfolk Southern and Cranemasters personnel enabled the line to be reopened and totally operational shortly after midnight on 3-9-19.
