If buildings could talk, this one would have a few stories considering the railroad history it has seen. Just across the street from it, the Rock Island line turned into the Peoria Terminal (owned by the Rock). The TP&W crossed the Illinois River and crossed the "PT" at grade. The Illinois Terminal crossed the Illinois River on a higher bridge and went over the other lines. Today, the TP&W and Illinois Terminal bridges and rails are gone.
