At home in the woods of Oregon. One hundred and ten years after she was built, Columbia Belt Line Railway #7, "Skookum" is back at home in the woods of Oregon looking as good as the day she rolled out of the Baldwin factory. Today however, she won't be bringing any logs home and unfortunately, her time here at home will be brief. Once all of her technical issues are ironed out, Skookum will be trucked to Northern California, where she'll be a guest locomotive at the Niles Canyon Railway in Sunol. At some point in the future, she'll go to her permanent home at the Roots of Motive Power Museum in Willits, CA. But for today, here's a left side view of the restored 2-4-4-2 as she pulls into the siding at Batterson, Oregon, the northernmost photo spot on our Trains Magazine Charter.
