1275 was built by North British, Glasgow and was in service from 1952 to 1967. After restoration 1275 returned to main line in 2004. The train consisting of rolling stock based at Glenbrook Vintage Railway participated in a memorial honoring the efforts of the crew of KA 949 to save lives at Tangiwai 24/12/1953, one of the worst ever rail disasters.
