    Remarks & Notes
A westbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe coal train blurs past a graveyard of semaphore signal masts lined up at Superior, Montana, after their removal from usefulness on October 6, 2005. One of our favorite sets was at milepost 192 on Montana Rail Link’s Fourth Subdivision east of St. Regis (two middle signals, 192.0 and 192.1).

The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
