| The sound of 2 GP38's barking could be heard for a few minutes before the train showed up. Here the Dubuque local 565 climbs out of the Mississippi River Valley towards Peosta. The 10 mile hike upgrade can be tough for heavy westbound trains. Today's 565 has all the power from Dubuque so the trip is going fairly easy. They are passes MP 189 and crossing the Middle Fork Catfish Creek for the 8th time in the past 3 miles.
