This is the original boiler for ex-Texas & Pacific 4-6-0 No. 316, aka; Texas State Railroad No. 201. It was built by Alco-Cooke locomotive in 1902. Like her stablemate, TSRR No. 500, aka; AT&SF 4-6-2 No. 3416, this boiler is no longer under warranty. While repair and refurbishment is said to be possible, it too was deemed more practical to manufacture a brand new boiler which was completed in 2004. Unfortunately, it too was flawed and after only a short time, forced No. 316 to be sidelined yet again. No. 316 is currently awaiting disposition with her boiler, and a hoped to be returned to operation.
