The section of track from Lunz am See to G?stling was closed to revenue traffic in june 2009 and was added to the already existing heritage operation Ybbstalbahn Bergstrecke. Due to high costs and low patronage, this section will be abandoned in fall 2019, to become a cycle path. On june, 10, a photo train was organized by a group of Austrian railfans, to bid farewell to the track.
