This train is backing into the station after completing its run from Carbondale, in the southern part of the state of Illinois. The train is led ... er ... was led (since it is now backing to the station) by Illinois Department of Transportation (IDTX) SC-44 4613. A Saluki is a breed of dog, which is the mascot of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. (The Chicago to Carbondale line also sees Amtrak's Illini, which is named for the mascot of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.)
