| Natural Tunnel... A place that has been on my shot list for years is Natural Tunnel. Located in Duffield, Virginia, this tunnel was mostly carved by Stock Creek. The railroad had to carve through a tiny section right towards the very end to complete the tunnel. This is a one of a kind photo spot in North America. The wall is so tall you couldn't hear U400-07 blowing on the other side a mere quarter mile away... They soon popped out of the northern portal at an easy Ten mph on their way to Big Stone Gap and CSX trackage... Natural Tunnel is a must shoot while NS and CSX still keep the rails from getting rusty in rural southwest Virginia... Thanks for looking as always and enjoy! |
