The "world's longest passenger train", Amtrak's "Auto-Train", crosses the A-Line bridge over the James River on the west side of Richmond, Virginia. The bridge was built jointly by the Atlantic Coast Line and Richmond, Fredericksburg, and Potomac Railroads in 1919. Amtrak train 53 crosses this bridge every evening about an hour and a half after departing its origin terminal of Lorton. The Virginia War Memorial Carillon and the downtown Richmond skyline can be seen in the distance.
