        Remarks & Notes
        MP15 8-Pack

Conrail’s former Reading lines in the anthracite region of Pennsylvania (now the Reading and Northern) had no significant servicing facilities. With most jobs operating five days a week, it was common practice to have a Saturday crew start at the far terminal (possibly St. Nicholas) pick up units all the way to Reading. The power move would then continue to Enola for overnight servicing and fueling. On Sunday, the reverse move would redistribute the units for Monday’s work. Usually, the moves consisted of ex-Reading SW900’s, SW1500’s, MP15’s, and the odd Geep, but this is the only time that I saw eight MP15’s together, along with a GP38-2 in the trailing position.

        Railroading in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, basically anything but the 2000s.
