Remarks & Notes

It's a splendid summer afternoon as a westbound manifest comes rolling down the straightaway between Cassandra and Portage. At one time there was an interlocking here, where the O Secondary track from Portage (on the right) joins the main; now it is just a hand-operated turnout. There was once a Ben's Creek branch that also diverged here. Eastward signals were mounted on a highway overpass that is our vantage point. The Cassandra overpass can be seen in the distance beyond the westbound signal bridge. Fuji Sensia.
