          Remarks & Notes
Wish I had spent more time on the old B&O West End. A westbound hopper train is leaving M&K Jct. as it crosses the twin Warren truss bridges above Cheat River. In November of 1985, both bridges were washed away in a significant flood that wreaked havoc on the environs. Beyond the cantilever signal bridge in the distance, the railroad begins the wicked Cranberry grade that reaches 2.8% on the climb to Terra Alta. This westbound will soon begin its ascent of Cheat River grade, but with empty coal cars and plenty of power it should be an easy trip. There is no easy trip for tonnage trains on the West End.
