Remarks & Notes

On a hot and hazy day the SJ&LC's two GP-9's lead the daily westbound freight from St. Johnsbury to Morrisville. The SJ was a 95 mile bridge line between the CPR and MEC in St. Johnsbury and the Central Vermont in Swanton. The SJ dieselized with GE 70 Tonners, which by the mid-1960's were pretty worn out. The road then acquired two, ex-NYC GP-9's and five RS-3's.
