Six months after Penn Central's takeover of the New Haven, Boston-Washington train #173, the Senator, emerges from one of the two short tunnels at East Haven, CT, behind an unpatched FL9 and an ex-PRR E8. The E-units soon bumped FL9s from the Shore Line as the exd-NH units were reassigned to ex-NYC Harlem and Husdson line commuter runs.
