Built as an SD45 in 1968, CP 5493 was rebuilt by Morrison Knudson to SD40M-2, and purchased by CP in 1995. For several years it did yard duty in Thunder Bay, Ontario and was finally retired in 2011 after 43 years of service. Shown here with yard Control Unit 1160.
