    Remarks & Notes
Near sunset, Amtrak 353 East, a San Joaquin train, passes rail-laying equipment at the east end of Knightsen. Contractors are installing a second main track between Bixler (just west of Orwood) and Oakley to increase the fluidity of Amtrak trains. Of course, this Amtrak-funded project benefited Santa Fe as well.
