We've reach the end of fall, and what little foliage is left is hanging on for dear life. As always time stood still at the crest of Raccoon Mountain as NS 102 (CSX Z381-25) (Sheffield,AL-Chattanooga,TN) passes the Whiteside Tunnel. It's interesting to know that you can see through one end, and out the other portal, but rails was never laid through it. The N&C which was later on NC&StL cut the side of the hill out, and reroute the main to the right, leaving this century plus old tunnel abandon since it's completion.
