An empty coal train is seen on the Union Pacific at Fremont, NE. During this era, the Union Pacific in eastern Nebraska seemed more like a Chicago and North Western RR as most SPRB coal trains and quite a few of the C&NW/UP Fremont run thru trains were powered by C&NW SD50's, SD60's, and finally C&NW Dash8's and Dash9's before the 1995 "merger" ended that era.
