| UP's freight from Altoona, WI to South St. Paul climbs the Knapp hill grade just west of Knapp, WI. This stretch of track uses fills and cuts and replaces the "Omaha's) original right of way which bent around the face of hills and cliffs. This is the site of a major derailment of the Twin Cities 400 of CNW fame on August 5, 1959. |
