The Soo Line acquisition of the Milwaukee Road in 1985 led to a lot of shuffling of equipment. The Soo had a pretty traditional reputation and when they unexpectedly ended up with the Milwaukee it through them into a state of flux which substantially changed and ultimately eliminated the railroad. Here a pair of MILW bay window cabooses appear orphaned in Superior, WI as SOO preferred their extended vision cabooses. It would take full CP ownership to straighten out the "new" SOO, and that even damaged CP for a number of years.
