The first of the new Amtrak Acela trainsets being built by Alstom is enroute to the Transportation Technology Center in Pueblo, Colorado and passed through Erie, Pennsylvania on February 17th, 2020. With two P42's on the head end and one on the rear, the consist made it's way from Hornell to Buffalo over the NS Southern Tier, at which point the train transferred to CSX rails to follow the route of the Lakeshore Limited to Chicago. As the train passes through Erie, the massive Wabtec/GE Transportation Plant can be seen in the background, along with two MBTA F40's waiting on the interchange.
The electrified Northeast Corridor and Keystone Corridor have the traffic. The Pennsylvanian and Capitol Limited routed, which are all diesel, have the scenery.
