| "The Pine Tree Route"
You know it's bad when you write the caption in your head before you even take the shot! But when I saw this young white pine growing along the park and walkway that borders the east bank of the Androscoggin River in Auburn I knew I just had to figure out how to frame up the train!
On this particular Saturday I returned to shoot the Rumford road trains for my second time on another picture perfect late winter day. The chases of both trains yielded many superlative shots but this has to be my favorite. It just screems Maine Central to me as train RUPO crosses the great falls bridge from Lewiston into Auburn behind a matching set of Pan Am GP40-2LWs.
It doesn't get much better than this when you head "Down East" to the great state of Maine! |
