SOO GP35 no. 728 and a pair of Alco trucked GP30s pull a freight out of Pigs Eye Yard along Dayton's Bluff at St. Paul on a snowless December day in 1986. I'm not totally sure, but assume this was a transfer move to Shoreham or Humboldt yards in Minneapolis. At this point SOO owned Milwaukee Road and was converting most switching to Pig's Eye. They had not yet spun off their Lake States subsidiary to Wisconsin Central (Oct. 11, 1987), but most through business to Chicago used MILW trackage.
