With the continued repair work on the Pan Am Southern Hoosac Tunnel in western Massachusetts, NS has contracted Canadian Pacific, Vermont Rail System, and New England Central, to detour autoracks bound for Davisville, RI and Ayer, MA. The detour route uses CP's Canadian Subdivision from Schenectady to Whitehall, NY; VRS CLP Mainline and GMRC Bellows Falls Subdivision from Whitehall to Bellows Falls, VT; and the NECR from Bellows Falls to Millers Falls, MA, to rejoin the PAS there. On March 10, NS GP38-2s 5609, 5667, 5666, 5663 and 5104, lead 63 loaded tri-levels over the GMRC (ex-Rutland RR) Cuttingsville Bridge amid steady rainfall.
