Moon over Sunol. A full moon rises over the the 1884-vintage Southern Pacific Depot in Sunol, CA, as Clover Valley Lumber Co. saddle-tanker #4 sits hot and ready for her next assignment. This scene was lit with a series of LED floods by Charter Operator Peter Lerro. Pete's latest array of lights throw so much light on the subject, that I basically put the tripod away for about half the night session and shot my Nikon Z6 mirrorless camera hand-held, with the 24-70 f/2.8G lens. The In-Body Stabilization (IBS) on this new generation of cameras is so effective that even someone like me can hand-hold reliably down to shutter speeds as low as 1/15th of a second at 70 mm. At Pete's night shoots, tripods are slowly becoming needless baggage.
