In an answered prayer, Union Pacific #5617 leads the MGJNY through East Portal on a clash of the seasons kind of morning. Working the Moffat 4 out of a 7 day week from September through October with hopes of finally catching the ultimate mix of fresh first snow and golden aspens at their peak or close at the Great Divide was finally realized. Repeat attempts for this for decades came to reality this last season. The following day after the high winds seen on the Divide in the background whipping up a blizzard; 95% of the leaves were stripped from the aspens. Shot on Mavic Pro 2 with heated battery.
