CN SD40-2W no. 5246 surrounds itself with a variety of yard and road power at Thornton Yard in Pt. Mann, BC. This facility is CN's primary classification yard and locomotive shops in the Vancouver area. Entry from here into Vancouver and North Vancouver require use of trackage rights over BNSF, dating back to Great Northern Ry. ownership well over 100 years earlier.
