                Remarks & Notes
Amtrak train A-920-1-05A creeps through Elk River after making multiple stops in inspect hot axles. On May 29, Amtrak 7 collided with a John Deere tractor/sprayer in Bainville, MT. The end result was a disaster as the entire train derailed causing multiple injuries on the train. The tractor operator was killed. After rerailing the entire train, Amtrak dispatched two healthy P42s to bring the entire train to Beech Grove to meet its fate. The train made Amtrak speed (79mph) until Big Lake when it was hit by a detector. The train then yarded in Northtown for the diesel shop to inspect the axles on the locomotives before continuing east the next evening.
