| A North Platte to Chicago manifest had a small treat on the point today. We headed out for a small chase after they got done with their work at Beverly. This monster freight begins to stretch their legs out as they make a run for Mount Vernon Hill as they pass thru the small town of Bertram. Here the train rolls over Big Creek on the Clinton Sub at MP 71.94. When the UP redid this bridge they just built a new bridge to the north and diverted the mainline to it, that's why the trees are opened up thru here. The train is around 10 miles east of Cedar Rapids. |
