| On a sticky summer morning, the stubborn low clouds refuse to budge as CP local D48 departs north on the west Kenwood Runner for the Colonie Subdivision. Making its inaugural appearance on this section of the former D&H, CMQ "barn" SD40-2F 9023 leads a heavy train out of Kenwood Yard to the.delight.of the lucky gathered fans. When tonnage permits, crews have been borrowing the previous days #252(Montreal to Saratoga) road power when the counterpart #253(when it does not run back to Montreal) for the D45 Kenwood to Saratoga turn sometimes with spectacularly rare results like this one. |
