n the early morning hours of June 3rd, 2020, Norfolk Southern train 310 (Elkhart, IN - Binghamton, NY) derailed in the town of Hunt, NY, just east of Letchworth State Park. Approximately 12 cars from the middle of the train, mostly autoracks, came off the tracks. In the early afternoon, a powerset of NS 4277 (GE AC44C6M) and NS 9401 (GE C44-9W) were dispatched from Buffalo to pick up the west half of 310's train. After coupling to the cut of cars in Hunt, the crew carefully inspected the train under the threatening skies of a WNY thunderstorm.
